Steve Cass
Technical Marketing and Communications
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

You don't automatically grow from a small niche provider to a major worldwide player.  It takes a focused vision, deliberate, thoughtful risk taking, and some luck. Gulfstream Aerospace will be sharing the story of their transformation from a small, U.S. - based company to a large, international company that is proudly based in Savannah.  The presentation will include Gulfstream's growth and investments around the world that enabled it to become the number one rated business jet brand in the industry.

Steve Cass is currently vice president, Technical Marketing and Communications at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia.  In this capacity Steve is responsible for all internal and external communications; sale development and sales support for the worldwide sales team; and assisting with new product development programs and product enhancements at Gulfstream. Prior to this position, Steve as served as director, Sales Support.  In that position he was responsible for coordinating activities at the Savannah Sales and Design Center and leading the Sales Development, Sales Engineering and Technical Marketing teams.

Since joining Gulfstream in 1992, Steve served in Preliminary Design Engineering, where he worked on the GV program, various aircraft design studies, special mission aircraft, sales support and world record analyses. In 1998, he became manager of Technical Marketing, overseeing a team to develop and present technical and competitive information for use in the marketing and selling of Gulfstream aircraft and supporting the sales team worldwide.

Before coming to Gulfstream, Steve worked for 5 years at Rockwell International in aircraft conceptual design.  Steve is a Leadership Savannah graduate and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) where he has served in leadership positions at both the local and national levels.  He has served as Chairman of the Savannah AIAA chapter and was also a member of the AIAA’s Technical Committee for Aircraft Design.  In addition, Steve serves as a mentor in Gulfstream’s Management Development Program.  Steve graduated in 1987 from Cal Poly, Pomona with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
